There was some elite talent in the gym at historic Maynard Jackson High School on Monday for the MLK Dream Challenge.  With 12 teams in the building who all have scholarship level talent on their rosters, there was plenty of excitement in the building as five of the six games literally came down to the last few possessions or last minute of the game.  There was talent at every age and every position in the gym and read below to see the full breakdown and all-showcase teams from the day.

The 1A Region 2 this year is littered with college level talent.  With a few guys that hold division one offers already, don’t let the school size fool you with the amount of talent that’s hiding in the Macon/Augusta area this year in 1A D1.  With ten teams in the region, the race is on to claim the crown, and claim a spot in the state tournament.  Read below to see the breakdown for 1A - D1 Region 2 for Macon/Augusta this year.

The 1A Region 1 this year has some great perimeter shooters this year.  With a few guys that have size, there’s no shortage of some quality college level talent tucked away in South Georgia this year in the region.  There are a number of guys who are efficient perimeter guys that have some serious range in the half court, but also some youngsters with some really good upside as well.  To see the breakdown for the region in 1A D1 South Georgia, read below.

The 2A Region 8 has a ridiculous number of youngsters who can play.  Several underclassmen who start and play major roles for their team can be found tucked away in Northeast Georgia, but there’s one team filled with seniors who has something to say.  In a region filled with great young guard play, there’s still some talented wings to be found as well and some guys to circle on your watchlists.  Read below to see the breakdown for 2A Region 8 for Northeast Georgia.

The 2A Region 7 is made up primarily of Northwest Georgia mountain teams this year, but the youngsters from North Cobb Christian are also in the region.  In a region full of seniors with some talent, the quest to finish in the top four in the region and make it to the state tournament is going to be an interesting race in Northwest Georgia 2A this year.  Read below to see the breakdown for the region.

The 2A Region 6 has a total of six teams this year, but there is some good depth to it with some really good coaching in the region.  With a number of players who already hold scholarship offers, talented freshmen, and a ton of experienced players back, this region is poised to have all of the drama as the season unfolds down the stretch to see how things shake out and who gets in and who goes home.  Read below to see the breakdown for the South Atlanta Metro area region for 2A Region 6 this year.

The 2A Region 5 is home of the state’s number one ranked senior this year.  But there’s way more talent in the region than Caleb Wilson, and a number of players who are capable of going off any given night for a big-time performance.  The region is loaded with youngsters with some serious upside to their games and will make for an exciting finish to see how the top four shake out.  Read below to see the preview this year for the Atlanta city region in 2A Region 5 this year.

The 2A Region 4 has a division one commit hiding over in the Augusta, Georgia area.  But with some really good guard play, some youngsters who can get after, and a region that has four very competitive teams in 2A, the door is wide open to see how things will shake out for seeding in the Augusta, Georgia 2A region.  To see the breakdown, read more below for this year.

The 2A Region 3 has some prospects hiding in south central Georgia this year of note.  In a region with only five teams, there is some good college level talent of note, and a pair of stars that are making some serious noise in the state this year with their performances.  With some great guards and perimeter players in the region this year, there is no shortage of star power in 2A Region 3, and read below to see the breakdown for the teams.

The 2A Region 2 out of the Macon area has six teams this year.  With two teams that are stacked with talent at the top, there are still four teams vying for those two other spots remaining in the state tournament.  With college level talent from top to bottom throughout the region, things could get interesting as teams battle their way into the state tournament.  Read below to see the breakdown for the Macon area 2A region.

The 2A Region 1 out of the Columbus area has some real talent this year and a few teams that have some serious opportunity to make a deep push this year in the state tournament.  With a variety of guards, wings, and even some bigs that are talented, there’s some real diamonds in the rough hiding in the Columbus area that are college level talented guys.  To see the breakdown for the 2A Columbus, Georgia area read below to see more!

The 3A Region 8 might be the region with the most depth to it this year.  All six teams in the region have a solid guy or two  to make them a potential qualifier for one of those highly coveted four spots in the state tournament.   With scholarship players across the region, there is bound to be some drama down the stretch in the 3A region of Northeast Georgia.  Read below to see the breakdown of the region this year.

The 3A Region 7 may not have a bonafide division one calibur player this year, but there are a lot of solid competitive teams in the region.  Just about anyone could knock off anyone this year in the region and every game truly will matter.  There are some definite diamonds on the rough as well that can definitely play at the next level somewhere that are hiding in Northwest Georgia.  Read below to see the region breakdown for 3A Region 7 in Georgia.

The 3A Region 6 is loaded with a lot of really great seniors this year.  There are great guards, wings, and forwards to make for an interesting finish to see who will finish in the top four and clinch a spot in the state tournament.  Read below to see the breakdown of the North Georgia 3A Region 6 for this year.

The 3A Region 5 has some of the states top talent in 3A this year.  The Cedar Grove Saints are a nationally recognized team, but with three other spots up for grabs in the state tournament from the region, there’s a lot to sort out before the postseason and a number of college level guys in the region that have something to prove.  Read below to see the breakdown for 3A Region 5 in the Atlanta Metropolitan region.

Some of the top teams in the entire state of Georgia got together Saturday for the Grayson New Years Classic.  18 teams from the state were in the building making for some jam packed and talent filled games.  Nine games throughout the day was capped off with a rematch from the 7A state championship game from last year between the host Rams and McEachern in an environment that’s about as good as it gets in high school basketball.  Read below to see a recap of all of the teams & games, top player performances, and the All-Showcase Team from the day.

The 3A Region 4 is home of a three time defending state champion from the Augusta area.  But there are some other state power houses in the region that make this one of the most highly anticipated regions in Georgia to watch how things play out.  With a number of scholarship level players in the region, there’s a lot to sort out in the Augusta area 3A region.  Read below to see a breakdown for this year’s 3A Region 4.

The 3A Region 3 is the infamous Savannah, Georgia region.  A region built on rivalries, history, and tough physical play.  This region has generated a number of state championship teams and contenders over the years and this year is no different with some teams looking to push.  With a number of scholarship players in the region, there is a ton of parity this year and just about anyone can beat anyone at any moment.  Read below to see how it breaks down this year in Savannah for 3A Region 3.

The 3A Region 2 is home of the two time defending state champions from Sandy Creek.  The Patriots are once again in contention for the title, but the region has some bonafide challengers this year who have something to say as the region has a lot of players who have offers to play somewhere at the next level already.  Read below to see the breakdown for 3A region 2 and see how things could play out.

The infamous Lemon Street Classic at Marietta High School tipped off on Friday, December 27th and it was absolutely jam packed with talent this year.  This year’s field features 30 teams from three different countries including Canada and the Bahamas.  I covered the event on day one and day three, but by Monday’s end, I had seen all 30 teams in person this season from the event at some point.  There was a remarkable amount of talent in Marietta, Georgia over the weekend and this is a can’t miss read loaded with talent from the 2025 all the way down through the 2029 class even.  Read below to see my breakdown of all 30 teams and the player rankings from the weekend from the 30 teams who played in the event.
